Welcome Letter

Mr. Colin Mullaney, Executive DirectorThank you for visiting the Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy / Vanguard School Web site. I think you’ll be excited about what you find here. We’ve worked hard to make this a useful tool to learn about the fundamentals of our school as well as provide up-to-date information on all the many happenings at CMCA.

Please take time to look at our curricular program and how it is aligned from our College Kindergarten through our twelfth grade. Our Core Knowledge Curriculum in our elementary school transitions smoothly through our junior high program into our classical liberal arts and sciences program in our high school, The Vanguard School. We have high expectations of excellence in character and academic achievement for each of our students, and every year we see them grow more than we even anticipated. The gains our students make over the course of their time here prepare them for admission to and success in the college of their choice, as well as in life.

We have a proven track record of the very highest levels of achievement due to our carefully selected curriculum, our focus on individual students, and an outstanding professional staff that is always looking for ways to improve. Last year marked our fifteenth year of operations and our first graduating class from high school. Our twenty-eight graduates represented and honored our school through their many accomplishments including a Boettcher Scholarship winner, a Daniels Scholarship winner, and an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy. We’re very proud of our work in helping our students achieve these and many other accomplishments, including over $3,025,000 in scholarships among the twenty-eight graduates.

As you peruse this site, you’ll also find information about our many extra-curricular offerings at all levels of our school. Our students learn teamwork, sportsmanship, and character, not to mention development of healthy social relations with peers and adults in the process while enjoying these many offerings. Please note the details on how to get your child involved in some of these sports, arts, and academic activities that are available to our students.

Finally, you’ll find the contact information for our staff members in case you have further interest or questions regarding the information provided on this site. Any of these various staff members would be glad to assist you.

Thanks again for your interest in and support of Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy and The Vanguard School. We’re excited to share the many outstanding accomplishments of our students and staff.
