Mission Statement
The PTO at CMCA/Vanguard School strives to capture the positive spirit of parent volunteering
through engaging in meaningful fundraising and enrichment activities.

The PTO uses a variety of mediums to communicate with families:
- Web and CMCA PTO Facebook page
- Monthly newsletters sent home in Friday folders (Grades K-6)
- PTO E-Mail blasts for recurring needs throughout the year
- PTO Meetings in "The Box" (2nd Tuesday of each month)
PTO meetings are normally scheduled on the second Tuesday of each month at 3:30 PM at the Corona Campus' "The Box" which is located adjacent to the school gymnasium. Children are welcome to come and can play at the school's playground during the meeting.

Box Tops for Education
Please clip your box tops and save your Coke rewards for the school! This year the PTO earned over $3,500 from Box Tops! Send in to your class parent, or contact Brooke Bolton by E-Mail at docsags@aol.com.
Uniform Resale
This recurring event helps to service our CMCA families by assisting in finding uniform items at a reduced cost, as well as providing an opportunity to re-sell gently-used items. If you have clothes to sell, please download the NEW Consigner's Agreement and give to Brooke Bolton. Cookie Dough
One of the parent's favorites--buy cookie dough in buckets! Last year this fundraiser made over $8000 for the PTO. Contact the PTO for more information.
Entertainment Books
This fundraiser wrapped up in September 2012. Thank you to everyone who made this a success. Estimates indicate that the school has earned over $8,000.
Silent Auction
Held once a year around April, this is the culmination to the school's "Lend-a-Hand" campaign. Held this year at the Briarhurst Manor, this event represents a school-wide social and fundraising celebration and a semi-formal affair. Skate City

Classroom Parent

Pizza Day

Knowledge Bowl

Father/Daughter Dance

Mother/Son Activity
A fun evening is planned for all mothers and sons (Grades K-12) at a Colorado Springs Sky Sox baseball game on May 19, 2012. The Sky Sox will be playing the New Orleans Zephyrs. Original Art Works

Requesting Funding from PTO
Staff and Administration at CMCA/Vanguard School may submit requests to the PTO in two ways:
1. Using the PTO Request Form. Each item will be voted on by PTO board members and qualifying parents that regularly attend PTO meetings.
2. Submitting requests to the School's "Wish List." These requests will be routinely reviewed during the year to assess the PTO's ability to fund these types of purchases. See Janet Dinnen for more information.
